Description
The Church of Santa Maria dei Carmini, in the heart of Dorsoduro, is an example of understated and harmonious Venetian elegance. The wooden facade is composed of sixteen interlocking pieces, cut and finished by hand, then individually colored by immersion.
The church of Santa Maria del Carmelo (Carmini) was founded by Carmelite friars in the penultimate decade of the 13th century.
